With the summer holidays on the horizon, whether it’s a weekend away, a road trip in the UK or a holiday abroad, travelling with a baby requires a least another bag or suitcase to carry the essentials, we aren’t even joking! When you are travelling with a newborn or a very young baby it can be daunting for both you and baby as their routine gets disturbed, and what about bathing baby? Do people really have to lug their heavy baby bath with them?
Don’t worry we’ve got you, and it certainly doesn’t require packing your baby bath. To help you prepare for your summer getaway we’ve put together our top tips for giving baby a bath when travelling which = minimum stress and doesn’t require valued storage space.
Bring A BabyDam Bathwater Barrier

Sink Bath
If all else fails you can always do a good old fashioned sink bath. We recommend ensuring it is cleaned properly before use, free from any distractions (bottles, lotions etc). Be aware of the position of the taps as they can cause an immediate hazard.
Another option is to lie baby on a flat and warm surface, either a thick towel or a cosy changing mat will do perfectly and you can give them a sponge bath with some water and a sponge. If you’re away for a longer period of time you won’t want to do this every day, but it’s a good option to have if other facilities are not available to you.
Bath Support
Another option is to bring a bath support and use in the family bath. A bath support provides comfort and security at bath time and whilst they can still be fairly bulky, they are much easier to take away with you then a baby bath. If you already use one with them at home then it will help to make them feel more settled and comfortable as it will have become synonymous with them at bath time. You can also use a bath support in conjunction with the BabyDam.
Shared Bath
Not only does this provide lovely bonding time for you and baby, you don’t have to carry anything extra with you, result! Always make sure you hold them tight during bath time to avoid them slipping and keep an eye out for any unexpected accidents during bath time, they do happen!
